Top tips for a shot at winning a digital construction Oscar
If you want to improve your chances of joining the likes of Laing O’Rourke, Mace Consult, McLaren Construction, WSP, Chetwoods Architects and BIMBox as a digital construction Oscar winner, then read our advice for drafting a compelling entry.

To improve your chances of competing successfully at the Digital Construction Awards 2026, observe these 10 tips:
1. Study the criteria closely. You cannot resubmit an entry from the 2025 event. Your entry must focus on work carried out in the UK or work for the benefit of the UK industry.
2. Make sure you’re entering the correct category.
3. Review who won last year and read about their winning entries to understand what caught the judges’ attention.
4. The entry form sets out the story your entry needs to tell. Answer the questions and provide the information requested.
5. Take the time to draft a formal entry rather than simply uploading content from marketing collateral: your entry will be all the better for this.
6. Use clear, plain English.
7. Jargon: construction is awash with it, but please avoid using too much of it in your entry.
8. Be mindful that, as experienced and knowledgeable as the judges are, they may not have heard of your firm or project before. Provide the necessary context.
9. In most categories, the outcome of the work that your entry focuses on scores double in the judging phase, so make sure you share detailed results of your work.
10. Get a colleague to proofread your entry before you submit it.
The deadline for entry is 31 October. Enter now. Good luck!
