Scott Pilgrim joins RLB Digital
Scott Pilgrim, co-founder and former chief product officer of Operance, has joined RLB Digital.

RLB Digital has appointed Scott Pilgrim as a software product consultant. He joins after a short career break following his exit from Operance, which was bought by Zutec earlier this year.
Pilgrim was a co-founder of Bimsense, the business that gave birth to Operance. In his eight years with both businesses, he collaborated with government bodies and industry leaders to develop software addressing key challenges in the sector. Notably, his digital platform laid the groundwork for delivering the golden thread.
Pilgrim began his career training to be an architect, followed by hands-on apprenticeships in bricklaying and later quantity surveying. However, over the past decade, his work has focused on transforming industry-wide challenges through digital solutions.
Michelle Zompi, head of RLB Digital, said: “We are delighted to welcome Scott to the RLB Digital fold. He brings a rare combination of development experience and deep technological understanding in the built environment. Working with the team, Scott will help us explore innovative, new ways to create value for our clients through digital and data strategies, and be at the forefront of the industry.”
Pilgrim added: “I have always been passionate about buildings – from my early training in the design of them and then understanding how buildings work from the ground up. That hands-on knowledge led me to explore how data is embedded in the industry and how outdated systems could be modernised to retain and use that data for future development and improvement.
“Joining RLB Digital feels like a natural continuation of that journey. Focusing on solving persistent industry problems with innovative solutions that bring lasting value to both clients and the sector as a whole.”
RLB Digital, founded in 2023, is nominated three times at this year’s Digital Construction Awards, including for Digital Consultancy of the Year. Last year, it recruited Rob Jackson and Emma Hooper, both formerly of Bond Bryan Digital.
