Marek Suchocki becomes CICES president post-Autodesk

A fellow of the CICES, and a member since 1998, Suchocki was elected to the role and officially assumed the presidency at the institution’s AGM last week, succeeding Alex Pearsall. The theme for his 12-month tenure as president is ‘Innovate, Integrate, Inspire’.

Suchocki’s career spans more than three decades. He started working for British Waterways on the canal network as an undergraduate before going on to hold roles at Costain, University of Reading, Atkins, Mouchel and, ultimately, Autodesk. At the latter, he rose from customer success manager in January 2010, via several promotions, to spend his final three years with the software giant as head of industry associations strategy. He left Autodesk in July, having been the industry-engaging face of Autodesk for nearly a decade.

Suchocki said: “Becoming a member of CICES was a pivotal point in my career, providing clear validation that forging my own path was both appropriate and merited. Being elected president is an exceptional honour, and it further reinforces for me that pursuing opportunities aligned with one’s own goals and beliefs is not only worthwhile, but can be valued and appreciated by peers.”
