2026 is go: Rhys Lewis of Revizto Q&A
In the first of a short series of Q&As to mark the turning of the year, Revizto EMEA director Rhys Lewis reveals his highlights of 2025 and his hopes for 2026, including channelling Stevie Wonder at Digital Construction Week.

What was the best thing that happened in information management and digital construction in 2025?
The most encouraging thing I’ve seen in the UK this year has been the golden thread, stemming from the Building Safety Act, finally starting to take shape on projects across the industry.
“There’s real momentum building around digital action in Wales. After several years of collaboration and hard work, it’s incredibly rewarding to see a clear and shared direction of travel set out.”
For a long time, the golden thread made sense conceptually, but proved challenging to apply on real projects. That’s now starting to shift, with more organisations moving beyond compliance and using it to plan ahead, reduce risk and embed better building safety practices from the beginning.
I’ve worked closely with teams, including Lewis Wenman at Bouygues, where there’s been a real focus on making this work on live projects. It’s been fantastic to see Revizto right on the front line of those efforts, helping teams digitally manage and connect information in a way that turns the golden thread from aspiration into reality.
On a personal note, participating in Field Days spanning the EMEA region has been a real highlight, along with hosting Revizto Unplugged in November. There’s still nothing that beats face-to-face conversations, listening to customer insights and using that feedback to continually improve Revizto as a product – even after more than eight years with the company!
What are you looking forward to professionally in 2026?
Well, as a Welshman, it probably won’t surprise you that Wales features quite heavily in my answer!
There’s real momentum building around digital action in Wales, particularly following the launch of the Built Environment Mission Statement and Digital Action Plan, which it’s been exciting to help develop as part of a wider industry working group. After several years of collaboration and hard work across the sector, it’s incredibly rewarding to see a clear and shared direction of travel set out.
What I’m most excited about in 2026 is building on that foundation – turning intent into action and supporting practical digital ways of working that genuinely improve how we design, build, operate and maintain assets. I’m proud to work for a company like Revizto that has supported me in progressing these industry-wide efforts, helping to improve collaboration and outcomes across the built environment.
What does the industry need to do more, or less, of in 2026?
I’m all in favour of exploring the huge benefits that AI could bring, but we need to stay grounded and focus on where it can genuinely add value today. There’s no shortage of excitement, but there’s also a lot of hype, and that can be distracting. The real opportunity lies in practical applications – AI that improves productivity, enhances precision, and helps teams make better decisions on real projects.
Less noise, more substance! If AI is going to move the industry forward, it needs to be grounded in real use cases rather than promises alone.
Can you recommend some culture you enjoyed in 2025, or are looking forward to in 2026?
Seeing Stevie Wonder live in Cardiff was something special!
It was my first large live music experience since covid, and being surrounded by thousands of people, all there for the same reason, was incredibly powerful. Watching someone of his talent command the stage so effortlessly was pure magic – a reminder of the importance of connection and shared experience. I’m looking forward to channelling some of that same energy into Digital Construction Week next year.
Looking ahead to 2026, it’s about maintaining balance. Spending time with family, continuing to travel and explore, and keeping that sense of adventure – while still playing my part in helping move the industry forward.
