Seven weeks to have your say on changes to 19650-3
Information management professionals have seven weeks to review and give their feedback on the draft revisions to 19650-3.

This revision follows the draft changes to 19650 Parts 1 and 2. The consultation on those closed earlier this month. The existing 19650 Part 3 covers the information management process for the operational phase of assets, but the revised Part 2 now covers this as part of a whole-life approach.
Thus, as expected, the revised Part 3 sets out some guidelines for implementing the requirements of 19650-2 “under a range of different circumstances”, according to the draft’s introduction.
Furthermore, 19650-3 also sets out specific guidelines for implementing 19650-2 requirements when:
- implementing a common data environment;
- aggregating information models into the asset information model;
- federating information and implementing an information container breakdown structure;
- implementing the information production standard and information production methods and procedures; and
- detailing the level of information need.
As with the earlier consultation, nima is urging interested parties to make constructive comments and suggestions, and to note what they like as well as things that they do not like. All feedback received will be reviewed by ISO in order to reach a consensus about what appears in the final drafts and published standards.
