Motif adds AI rendering tool
Motif, the BIM software startup launched earlier this year by former Autodesk executives, has added an AI rendering workflow to its tool.

The Motif platform is designed to unify 2D and 3D workflows into a single platform, bridging the gap between disconnected tools and workflows.
Using a combination of Google Gemini’s and OpenAI’s foundation models, Motif’s AI rendering offers “frictionless interaction as a single click to render” during early proposals or within the collaboration/review environment. Users can select render styles, modifiers, moods and weather conditions, or guide the software further with specific prompting.
In a blog post, Tatjana Dzambazova, director of AI solutions at Motif, highlights the generation of the main image above: “If your goal is to generate a photorealistic rendering that brings your initial model to life, just place a ‘Motif saved view’ from Revit or Rhino, open the image generation toolbar, and go. No expertise required. No prompts. One click: just do it."
Motif is led by CEO Amar Hanspal, who is best known for his tenure at Autodesk where he was the co-CEO and chief product officer. Also on the Motif board are: CTO Brian Mathews, who was Autodesk’s vice-president for platform engineering; vice-president for product Matt Jezyk, who spent more than two decades at Autodesk, contributing to the development of Revit Architecture and Revit Structure; and vice-president for design Lira Nikolovska, who was director of XD for the BIM product line group, co-founder of building ops and senior UX architect on the Revit team.
