Glider and Virtual Helpdesk team up to bring asset intelligence to life
Glider Technology and Virtual Helpdesk (VHD) have formed a strategic partnership to bring together Glider’s asset intelligence discipline and VHD’s established facilities and asset management platform, creating a stronger link between asset information, planned and reactive maintenance, compliance activities and operational performance.

Under the partnership, VHD will continue to provide the operational tools that facilities and estate teams use to manage maintenance, compliance and service delivery across their estates. Meanwhile, Glider will provide the governed record that keeps asset data structured, validated and accessible throughout the lifecycle of each building.
For asset owners, the result is greater confidence that critical building information remains current, accessible and verifiable long after construction handover, supporting compliance, safety and informed decision-making across the estate, the two firms said.
Asset intelligence discipline?
Glider describes asset intelligence: “The discipline that ensures the people responsible for buildings can find, trust and act on the information they need to keep them safe, compliant and performing. It spans the whole life of a building, from design and construction through to disposal, and most of that life is spent in operation, which is where this partnership is focused. By keeping information structured, governed and easy to use, asset owners can make better operational decisions and demonstrate compliance with greater confidence.”
The partnership with VHD extends this by connecting governed asset information with the operational processes that continuously generate new data, including inspections, statutory compliance activities, certifications and both reactive and planned preventive maintenance.
Glider and VHD are also exploring deeper technical integration between their platforms, so that the day-to-day work VHD carries out in the field feeds directly into Glider’s governed record, keeping it accurate and up to date.
“Most organisations only really think about their building information twice: when it’s built, and when something’s gone wrong,” said Nick Hutchinson, founder and managing partner at Glider Technology. “Everything in between gets left to chance. Partnering with VHD means the people running a building day to day are working from information they can trust, not just when it’s handed over, but for as long as it’s in use.”
VHD director Rob Nicoll added: “Our customers depend on VHD to manage maintenance, compliance and day-to-day operations across their estates. Working with Glider means the information behind that work is just as reliable as the work itself. Together, we’re giving asset owners a more accurate, reliable view of their buildings and more confidence in the information they rely on every day.”
