Digital Construction Week 2025 day one: five things for your hit list
It’s that time of year again: Digital Construction Week (DCW) is go! What should be on your hit list on day one?

DCW kicks off on Wednesday 4 June. There’s plenty on offer, so here are DC+’s five ‘must sees’ and ‘must dos’ for day one.
Get the show app
Obviously, you'll pick up the printed show guide on entry and keep it for future reference, but also download the show app to make your life easier. It’s available for Apple and Android.
Flag the speaker sessions you want to see and they'll appear under ‘My Schedule’ so you know where you need to be and when.
Pick of the sessions
There are more than 200 speaker sessions, so you're not going to see them all. Here are some of the day one sessions that have caught our attention:
10.30am: Plugging the gap between digital construction and operations
This is the first of several sessions on the Digital Operations stage focusing on the BIM/information management meets smart buildings challenge. This session includes Nohman Awan from Balfour Beatty and Justin Kirby from the Digital Buildings Council. Oh, and Matt Dawson MBE.
12.30pm: Digital consultant and information manager – a career without a path
MottMac's Clara Moreno and Emma Wei lead this session in the People & Change theatre. They aim “to inspire and provide actionable strategies for information managers and more general digital practitioners seeking to advance their careers and make a lasting impact in the construction industry”.
2pm: The new digital generation: Can they change the world?
Three young digital construction professionals – Isabelle Barron from WSP, Benjamin Hardie from Laing O’Rourke, and William Baker-Jones from Kier Natural Resources, Nuclear & Networks – will look to the future on the Inspire stage. This writer will be chairing.
3.30pm: Enabling digital PMO in construction and proactively managing change
In the Transformation Hub, Don Bokor from Arcadis will address how to implement a digital PMO within your organisation.
4pm: Quantifying AI’s ROI: Measuring the impact of what wasn’t possible before
Traditional ROI models don’t work for AI in construction, so how do you measure what was never possible before? Sammy Newman at Vinci Construction promises this session on the Innovation stage will “unveil new ROI frameworks, real-world case studies, and practical tools to help businesses quantify AI’s impact beyond cost savings”.
Crystal Wall gazing
To mark DCW's 10th anniversary, the show organisers are inviting you to share your boldest ideas, predictions and visions for the future of the built environment.
What will the next 10 years bring? Smarter cities? AI-driven design? Net-zero as standard? Head to the Crystal Wall (opposite the Main Stage), grab a pen, and add your thoughts (in your best handwriting, please).
Shortly after the show, DC+ will analyse the results. Use the QR code on the Crystal Wall and you’ll be the first to be notified of the publication of the analysis.
Open to disruption
If you're open to disruptive technology or you like to be the first to try new technology, head to the Start-Up Village (stand D170). DC+ has already highlighted ConsoliDocs and Hoppa, but there are another half-dozen startups to talk to.
Networking
If you just can't wait for some light refreshment, 4.30pm is the time for BIM + Tonic on the Nemetschek stand (stand D610). We're sure non-alcoholic beverages will be available. You can roll straight from that to the 10th anniversary networking drinks in the DCW Lounge.
